A large agri-business retailer had experienced significant growth and the demand for effective leadership had surpassed its internal supply. The company recognized they must strengthen leadership skills of internal management in order to meet the demands of future rapid growth.

Solution

Following one executive's evaluation of the Leadership Grid seminar, the company brought the development program in-house to train management employees throughout several areas of the organization. Using a team-managed approach, the program successfully increased individual productivity by measuring results and taking personal responsibility for activities in a theory-based learning environment.

Participants in teams worked to gain an understanding of their own impact, the strengths and weaknesses of different leadership styles, and how to realize the potential of people working together.

Following the completion of training by the management staff, there was a heightened ability to make effective decisions quickly and determine the soundest, most practical approach to resolving issues.
